Makeup Of The Day #1

Makeup Of The Day #1

For today's blog post I thought I'd share with you the makeup I am wearing today. Since it's summer here in the UK I thought I'd keep my makeup light and fresh, like opting for a cream blush instead of a powder and wearing a lip gloss instead of a lipstick

The products I used...
Rimmel Lasting Perfection Foundation  (I use the lightest shade)
Collection Perfection Concealer in shade 2 (I usually use shade 1)
Collection Perfection Powder Ultimate Powder in Fair
Rimmel London Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry
Natural Collection Lip Gloss in Cherry Drop - (This smells lovely, like sweets! It's a really pretty dark pink with lots of little sparkles in it)
Model Co Eye Shadow Duo in Bronzed Goddess
Real Techniques Blending Brush

I applied my Foundation using my fingertips to clean moisturised skin, I then used my hands to blend in the Foundation before adding Concealer. I dotted the Collection Perfection Concealer under my eyes and over areas where I have any redness. I then used my fingers to lightly tap in and blend in the  Concealer. I then lightly powdered my face with the Collection Perfection Powder. I then applied a cream blush to the apples of my cheeks and blended the colour in slightly. I then applied the lightest shade (Maldives) in the Model Co Bronzed Goddess Duo all over my eye lid, I then added a small amount of the darkest shade (Jamaica) to the crease. I then blended the two colours using the Real Techniques Blending Brush. I then just added s little of the Natural Collection Lip Gloss in Cherry Pop to finish.
I didn't apply Mascara but you can always add that if you'd like :)

Model Co Duo Eye Shadow Review

Model Co Duo Eye Shadow Review...

A couple of months ago I got the Model Co Eye Shadow duo in Bronzed Goddess, the palette is so sleek and compact and very easy to travel with. It's become an essential in my makeup bag as it contains two neutral colours that work well on their own or together. The two colours are both quite shimmery and do transfer this onto the skin but I think this is a great look for the summer time and the name of the palette describes exactly what the shadows are trying to portray. The rich colours and long lasting colours look expensive and luxurious with the addition of glitter that will capture the light for a more elegant look
.

The duo contains two shadows the first is a light cream colour which peachy undertones, this shadeis named Maldives, its a lovely light reflecting shade works well to highlight the eyes. The second of the two shades is called Jamaica. This is beautiful dark brown colour that works well at framing the eyes, the rich colour adds depth to the eyes and is a shade I often use to blend into the crease of my eye to add more definition. I love both of these shades as they are essential neutral colours that I love to wear on a warm summers day or on an evening out.

I also just wanted to mention the packaging, I love the sleek compact design of the packaging, it looks chic and always looks clean. The interior of the duo palette also contains a small mirror which is great for when you are on the go and just want to check your makeup. I know that this is going to be in my makeup bag for the rest of the summer, have you tried this palette?

3 Ways To Store Some Of Your Beauty Products...

3 Ways To Store Some Of Your Beauty Products...

If your looking for some new ways to store some of your favourite beauty products, but don't want to spend a lot of money I have 3 different ideas on how you can store some of your most loved products.

The first is in a basket, the one I am using was given to me as a gift and was used to store soaps, it was such a nice basket I wanted to keep it and re-use it to store some of my other products. The basket already came with straw in it which was used to cushion the soaps that were part of the gift set. I decided to keep the straw in the basket as they would help protect put also 'prop up' the products I was going to store in the basket. But if you don't have any straw or don't want to use straw you could also use tissue paper to create the same affect. I do think the straw makes the basket look quite rustic, which I really like but the straw can get a little bit messy if you move the basket around. I think this is a nice way to store different products, they are easier to find and you can present them in any way you want and make a small feature with them in your bathroom/bedroom. You could also use a box if you prefer or maybe a small crate, that would look really nice.

The second storage idea is for smaller items, I found this small polka dot bucket a a small vintage shop. I use it to store my Lush Lip Scrub and my Body Shop Lip Balm. It's really small so it's great for storing small Lip Balms or small Eye Shadows.

The third way to store your beauty products is in a cute tin, I have this Roman Holiday tin that I found at TKMaxx. It's one of my favourite room decorations, I love the film and anything Audrey Hepburn so I was really excited when I found this. I use this to store small beauty products like Lip Balms and samples. I think it looks really retro and keeps my room looking tidy.

Beauty Bargains and Essentials

Beauty Bargains and Essentials...

While out shopping yesterday (I was only meant to be browsing but ended up buying a few things), I saw a few essentials that I needed and what was even better was they were all at bargain prices!

I had been looking for a Turbie Towel for ages, I really needed one because although my hair isn't that long it does take all day to dry and I really don't like to use head on it during the summer months. I had looked online and at different shops but they cost a bit more than I thought, so I just continued to let my hair naturally and towel dry it. But whilst in Savers yesterday I found one, I was so pleased because it was only £1 which I was really surprised at, I thought it was a great deal so I got two.

Whilst in Savers I also got a got a cover for my tooth brush, I thought it would be a good idea to get one since I've got a new brush and I really wanted to keep it clean. It was really inexpensive under £1 and I thought it was an essential for helping me keep my dental care clean and tidy. And of course the case is pink which I love!

And finally, I went to Boots just to have a quick look around and whilst stood near the til area there w a clearance section, I don't usually look but I just wanted to see if there was any good offers on. Whilst looking at the different products I saw a perfume it's called Breakfast At Tiffany's (I had to have a smell because I love that film), I sprayed a little on my arm and let the scent develop. I'm not the best a describing scents but the perfume smelt clean and fresh and it was on sale for £5 for 100ml which I thought was good. Its a nice scent so if your ever near a Boots you can always have a look. The packaging has an iconic image of Audrey Hepburn from the 1961 film, which instantly got my attention. I love that film and of course everything Audrey Hepburn, I have books, posters pretty much anything Audrey, I love it all! So I thought this would look nice with my other Audrey decor. The bottle the perfume comes in is also really pretty, it's a glass bottle with a flower carved onto it, the perfume looks slightly pink/purple in some lighting which also makes it look very pretty. The bottle is topped with a gold lid which is decorated with pink and white little gem stones on it, which really compliments the colour of the perfume.

Clothing I would love in my wardrobe

Clothing I would love in my wardrobe

I recently watched Vivianna Does Makeup's latest capsule wardrobe video which I really loved and thought what a great idea it would be to create my own capsule wardrobe sometime. I've got quite a lot of clothes that I still need to wear for now, but I can't wait to create my own capsule wardrobe for Autumn/Winter. I'm looking forward to it already. Although I am not yet creating my capsule wardrobe for this season, I still wanted to share some of my ideas on the items that I would like to have in my wardrobe all year round. These items will work for pretty much any season and can be worn to create a number of different looks, from smart to casual which makes them suitable for any occasion.
The Key pieces I have chosen include...
A white shirt - This is a wardrobe basic which can be work both casually or formally, with trousers, jeans and skirts to create a number of different looks.
A White T-shirt - A comfy white tee can be worn on its own with jeans or under a blazer to make it look slightly smarter. Its a great item to have as it is a great layering piece. You could also add in other colours to your wardrobe such as black or grey or add a slightly brighter colour for the summer months.
A Jumper - A key layering piece that keeps you warm and can be warn over a t-shirt, shirt or dress for those cooler days.
White Converse - I would love a pair of these they work well with jeans and a t-shirt or with a pretty summer dress. I can't wait to buy some soon!
Jeans - A good pair of jeans is something I like to have as they are casual and can be worn everywhere. I like to get a dark wash jean but light wash jeans look great throughout the summer, I'm loving the one's in Topshop they look really on-trend.
A pair of Ballet Pumps - These look so classic, they remind me of Audrey Hepburn (much lik the Trench Coat does) these look so elegant and again can be worn everyday or to dress up an outfit too.
The Trench Coat - I love this style of coat, all I think is Breakfast at Tiffany's (which I love!) so this is always a key wardrobe staple that I would want in my wardrobe. I have a green one but am looking for a cream one (like in the film).
The Saddle Bag - These are great and I love the tan colour, it instantly makes me thing vintage!
Peter Pan Collar Top - I love the Peter Pan collar trend, I love them on t-shirts and dresses I think they look so cute. I loved the idea of getting one in a pastel colour so that it looks extra pretty!
Skater Skirt - I love this Pastel Skater Skirt it look so sweet and would look nice with either the Peter Pan t-shirt, the white t-shirt or the white shirt.
I created this board on Polyvore so all of the images are their website :)
What is your favourite item and what would you include in your wardrobe essentials?
Hope you like this post :)

Products I need to use up - Project Pan Summer 2014

Products I Need To Use Up - Project Pan Summer 2014

Recently I've been using a few different products from a number of different categories, these include Skincare, Hair care, Makeup and Fragrance. Since using these products I've noticed that there are so many products I need to use up before buying new ones. I love buying and testing out new products but I don't like to waste the products I already own so I have decided to continue to use the products that have been open for a while and really to need using up. I think this will give me an incentive to use the products that I have before buying more, which will lead to less waste and save money.

There are a few products I've been trying to use up for a while, I've nearly finished them so I thought I may as well use them up these products have taken a while for me to nearly finish but I thing I will probably have used them up within the next week or so. These products are... Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Straightened Smoothing Balm and the Charles Worthington Balancing Act Salon Finish Dry Shampoo. The first product was one I got as a gift and the second was just not being used at home so I thought I would try it. I don't mind the smoothing balm it works nicely and you only need a little for your hair to be smoothed out. It smells quite nice too, fresh and clean like you've just washed your hair, its a little bit sticky when you first apply it but you can't feel it on your hair once you have brushed it though.
The second of these two products smells ok, but it does look very powdery in my hair. I have really dark hair so it needs brushing quite a bit when I use this product as it leaves my hair looking a bit grey if I don't brush it through enough. It does add volume but its not a product I would repurchase, however I do like Charles Worthington products so I would try other products from the range in the future.

As well as hair care products there are a number of makeup products I need to use up, these include... The Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light. I was so exited when I bought this product but it is a bit too dark for me, I've got quite a bit to finish of this so I really need to get on with that but. I do like the highlighter though, I like to apply this to the top of my cheeks to make them look more summery. The next product is the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. I do really like this palette but I think I prefer the other palettes that MUA make, this is little shimmery so its better to use on a night out, however having said that I do use it regularly in the daytime. It has a range of neutral colours that work for a variety of looks from a smoky eye to barely there look and at £4 its a bargain!

The next makeup product I need to use up is the Collection Perfection Concealer in shade 2, this is the wrong shade for me its a little bit too dark, there wasn't any left in my shade so I just thought I'd try this. If I blend it in with a lighter Foundation it seems to work ok. I am going to try and use this up then repurchase it in shade 1 which I usually use. I also need to finish using my Maybeline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara, it's been open for a few weeks so I'm trying to use it up before it starts to dry out, but it is a great Mascara and one I would buy again.

There are a few different bases I need to use up too as they have been open for a while so I need to finish them before they start to dry. These are... The Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in New Nouveau Neauvo which I think is the lightest shade. I love this foundation it creates a really natural look and gives you light to medium coverage, which is why I like to use it throughout the summer. The next base it the Rimmel London BB Cream Matte in Light, this is a little bit too dark for me so I like to blend it out well, I've got quite a bit left to use but I don't think I would repurchase this unless I could find it in a lighter colour because I have quite pale skin.
The final base I need to use up is the Rimmel True Match Foundation in the lightest shade. I do like this foundation as it does blend in well with my skin, I don't have too much left to use so maybe I would repurchase this again but I do want to try different foundations so I will keep in on the list of products I like.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss and Boots 17 Eyeliner Pen are also two other products that I need to use up as well as my Collection Lasting Perfection Powder which I've had for a few months. These and a few other products all need using up, I have a few body lotions and both products that I need to use up so I am going to try and use these up too.

I'm going to set myself a target of one month starting from today to try and use at least 3 to 5 of these products up from my list, but I will keep you up to date and keep note of what I have used up so I can let you know :)

Hope you liked this post, have you tried any of these products?
